Just off junction 25 of the M25, Capel Manor is the venue for the mid year BTA Expo. Although not the largest of the Expo's there were plenty of traders offering a wide selection of bonsai trees, pots and accessories and the beautiful grounds were available to enjoy the summer weather.
NWKBS were invited to Lullingstone Castle by Tom Hart Dyke, of The World Garden fame, to mount a bonsai display at his May plant sale. It was a beautiful, sunny spring day and we setup our stand on the green outside the castle with wonderful views across the lake. All the visitors showed a keen interest in the trees and were impressed by their quality, Tom was so inspired he has asked us back next year. The club members had plenty to do when not manning the stand. The castle and church were both open and The World Garden, which is maturing now, has cactii houses and rare plants collected by Tom. There was also the plant stalls with a variety of bedding plants, shrubs and herbs and selections of alpines suitable for accent plantings.
